Seeking Provost applications and input

From the President

Dear Members of the Brown Community,

Following the recent announcement about the composition of the Provost Search Committee, I am writing to share several updates and seek community feedback regarding the search process for the next Provost.

On behalf of the search committee, I am pleased to invite applications and nominations for the position of Provost. The full position description may be found on the Brown Career Site, and the search committee will consider internal and external candidates. Applications and nominations must be received no later than October 12, 2022, to be assured full consideration, but the search will continue until a Provost is appointed. Applications should include a detailed cover letter and CV, and nominations should include a description of the qualities and experiences of the nominee(s) that make them well-suited for this position. All materials and inquiries will be held in strict confidence and should be sent to Marguerite Joutz, Chief of Staff to the President, at Marguerite_Joutz@Brown.edu

Members of the Brown community are also invited to convey their views on the opportunities, challenges and priorities ahead for Brown, as well as key qualities and experiences to seek in our next Provost. Members of the community may send a confidential memo to the search committee via Marguerite Joutz. In addition, over the coming weeks members of the search committee and I will hold three listening sessions for faculty, staff, and students. Additional information about these sessions will be provided in a future edition of Today@Brown.

Thank you in advance for your engagement and guidance as we begin this important search.

Sincerely,

Christina H. Paxson
President
